NO REGRETS CHENEY

August 30th 2011 19:33
COWARDLY CHENEY

COWARDLY is the most accurate adjective I can use to describe former Vice President Dick Cheney. It means lacking courage, characteristic of or befitting a coward; despicably mean, covert or unprincipled.

THAT IS AN ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF DICK CHENEY.

This is the conservative hero who used every deferment to avoid serving in the military during the Vietnam War because he had better things to do so that later in his career he could talk tough and help send others to die on falsified intelligence in Iraq.

SOME WOULD EVEN SAY DICK CHENEY AND GEORGE W. BUSH WERE WAR CRIMINALS BASED ON THE NUREMBERG TRIALS PROTOCOL. IT'S VERY FORTUNATE DICK AND GEORGE WERE AMERICAN LEADERS.

Dick Cheney says he supports using harsh interrogation techniques, aka torture, such as waterboarding. If Mr. Cheney could have the waterboarding experience he would understand it isn't effective. Yes, you will spill your guts. The only problem is that almost every thing you say will be a lie to convince your interrogators you are giving them information. You say whatever they want to hear. You make up lies.

Torture will always gain information. The only problem is the information is fabricated. Whatever it takes to stop the torture.

Mr. Cheney and his friends have benefited monetarily from the Iraq war, but he has nothing to worry about as no administration is going to investigate a previous administration even if the previous administration were guilty of causing the death of 100,000 or more of innocent civilians.

OR RESPONSIBLE FOR CAUSING AN ECONOMICAL CALAMITY FOR THE AVERAGE AMERICAN.

AS DICK WOULD SAY YOU HAVE TO EXPECT COLLATERAL DAMAGE AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T EFFECT DICK AND ASSOCIATES.

DICK CHENEY IS MORALLY CORRUPT, REPREHENSIBLE AND LACKS ANY FORM OF LOYALTY TO ANYONE BUT HIMSELF.

THERE IS A REASON DICK CHENEY SPEAKS OUT OF THE SIDE OF HIS MOUTH. EVERYTHING HE SAYS IS A FABRICATION OR AN OUTRIGHT LIE.

DICK CHENEY A TRUE CONSERVATIVE.

Cheney stepped down from his post at Halliburton when he became VP. Where is your proof that he "benefited monetarily from the Iraq war"? His friends certainly did, but I've seen no proof that he did. If you have some, please show it and back up your assertion.

With that being said, I've always loathed Cheney. He is a huge neocon and a central member of PNAC. He believes that all our problems should be solved by conflict and war, regardless of the cost. I have no use for him. He's a relentless warmonger.

BTW, I am a conservative, and Cheney is no "conservative hero." His approval ratings were shockingly low while he in office across the board (for Dems and GOP voters). His final approval rating was 13% (CBS news poll). If conservatives represent half the country and only 13% of all voters approve of him, you can't back up your statement that he was a conservative hero.

I agree. Cheney did step down when he ran for VP. Halliburton also graced Cheney with a $36 million dollar severance package and as VP continued to receive deferred compensation, as well as stock options.

As you know, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Cheney were like two peas in a pod. Very close friends for many years. Rumsfeld's office also took complete control of Halliburton's Iraq oil contract, which benefited Halliburton. In addition, Halliburton and subsidiaries KBR and BRS received a number of no-bid contracts.

Would any of this benefit someone who receives deferred compensation and stock options? Would any of this benefit someone after leaving office?

I'm also pleased to hear that you have always loathed Cheney. Quite a few of my conservative friends now loathe Dick Cheney.

Unfortunately, Dick Cheney is still quietly held in high esteem by a wealthy influential group of conservatives.

Yes, he is a warmonger especially when there is money to be made from war. Greed is ugly whether it's in conservative or liberal form.

It is also unfortunate that George W. Bush was so influenced by Cheney until later in his second term. It's the Bush Administration that history will remember, not the Cheney Administration.

Good discussion PopCon. My best to you.

Fair enough. A lot of executives get severance packages, but the size and structure of that could be interpreted as a continuing payoff. Like I said, I was no fan of Cheney's, so I'm not going to defend him. I was no fan of Bush, either. He was a disaster -- as is Obama.
