HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ALREADY?
Christina Taylor Green was only nine years old and she is dead.
Does that make her unique? No. Children die every day throughout the world in the name of politics, nationalism and religion.
What made Christina's death unique was the fact that she was an innocent bystander when an attempt to kill Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords took place in Arizona. She was one of six people who died that day because a mentally deranged individual decided it was the only way for him to be heard within the framework of all the political hate rhetoric tossed around in the past election.
What fascinates me about the aftermath of the shootings, is the immediate denial process of those so called conservative talking heads and politicians who lovingly instigated the hate rhetoric in order to win an election and now have no memory of their words.
Don't get me wrong. I understand that a politician will say and do anything to get elected, especially when financed by special interests and you need to appease your voting block.
But the Hypocrisy we observed at the memorial for the victims with all the politicians present was even more incredible. Many of these same politicians were some of the same who spewed hateful BULLSHIT during the election.
But, that's okay. We the People have short memories and will never admit that our favorite politician may need to throw out a mea culpa. Instead, we will put all the blame on Jared Loughner.
Yes. Jared Loughner killed those six people and deserves to be punished to the full extent of the law. I have no sorrow for those who kill others without a true justification, such as self defense.
My question remains: What triggered this young man to kill?
